What we did!
Engineered a town wide fiber optic Wide Area Network (WAN) utilizing GigaBit Ethernet technology to establish connections between nineteen (19) Town of New Canaan facilities. Axiom Group responsibilities included complete physical and logical design of the fiber optic backbone infrastructure, design and configuration of the active WAN electronics, integration of the GigaBit WAN with new and existing Local Area Networks (LAN’s), creation of budgetary pricing models for the entire system and Project Management of the network implementation.

Subsequent to the implementation of the physical infrastructure, Axiom Group Engineered a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) System which is layered over the Data Network. This VoIP System has allowed the Town of New Canaan to eliminate all of their traditional phone systems (along with the maintenance that goes with them) and collapse all Town telephone traffic down to two (2) servers (access Points) strategically placed on the Network. Axiom Group then specified, bid and recommended carrier services for all local, long distance and Internet access to be connected to these two access points.

In addition to the above, Axiom Group has also Engineered a Video over IP System for the Town which allows for Multi-Cast Video to be broadcast over the WAN and displayed anywhere within the network.

Other services provided by Axiom Group, for this project, included comprehensive cost modeling, creation of detailed Engineering Packages and Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation. Additionally, Bid Cycle and Project Management services were also provided for this project.

In addition to the above project Axiom Group has engineered, sent to bid and project managed the design and implementation of Cabling Infrastructures, Network Electronics, Public Address and Master Clock Systems, Intrusion Detection and Security Systems for many of the above sites over a five year period.
